Is Matomo free?

Self-hosted Matomo On-Premise is free and open source; premium features are paid plugins. Matomo Cloud starts at $26 a month^[1]^[11].

Does Matomo need a cookie banner?

By default it sets cookies. Matomo explains how to run without consent (disable cookies, anonymise IPs), and which countries accept that^[4].

Which is better for an online shop?
